In 2001 the Chilean Ministry for Public Works awarded HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions and a partner the contract for the PPP project. The consortium planned, financed and built the 30-kilometer section of the beltway around Santiago de Chile on the basis of a BOT (Build Operate-Transfer) contract. It was opened to traffic in 2006, and the Canadian investor, Brookfield Asset Management is responsible for operating it until 2033. The project’s investment volume amounts to EUR 521 million.
